Natural Lands Preservation in Southern Ocean County : The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders joined with New Jersey Conservation Foundation in announcing the preservation of nearly 1,500 acreas in the section of the New Jersey Pine Barrens known as the Forked River Mountains. EMT Graduation - Spring 2009 : Thirty-three new emergency medical technicians marked the completion of their basic training during a graduation ceremony Tuesday, April 14, at the Ocean County Training Center, Waretown. Each of the graduates successfully completed 120 hours of classroom work and rigorous hands-on training. They also spend 10 additional hours in a local emergency room assisting hospital personnel. Celebrating 80 Years - Seeing Eye Inc. : The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders joined with members of the Ocean County 4-H Seeing Eye Club and local radio personality Mike Moran in celebrating the 80th anniversary of The Seeing Eye Inc., the oldest existing school to train dog guides and to instruct people who are blind in the use of those dogs.
