About the Commission
The Exploited and Missing Children's Commission was established in 1984 as an
advisory board to the Ocean County Freeholders to study the needs and promote
the rights of our children. It is the Commission's goal to bring information on
timely issues to the public.
The commission coordinates with the various groups in the county that offer
protection and safety programs for our kids.
In particular, the commission works closely with the Sheriff Department's
Special Projects Unit, promoting the child identification program. Contact us

Annual Conference
It is the goal of the Commission to bring information on timely issues to the public, and in that light each year the Commission hosts a conference.
Over the years we have sponsored and participated in numerous conferences,
public child safety and awareness programs, and public speaking engagements.
Our most recent conference was titled, "Internet Safety – The Threat of Online
Predators. ".
This free program was open teachers and school professionals. Our keynote
speaker for this conference was Detective David Anderson Jr, of the Ocean
County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office
Computer Crime Unit.
Detective Anderson addressed the issues of Internet Safety and discussed Cyber
Crimes committed against our most defenseless citizens, our children, and
offered information on what our community can do to prevent this. Those who
attended received professional development hours.
