Studies show that about 80% of car seats are used incorrectly.

Child Passenger Safety Seat Booklet
Are you using your car seat correctly?
Ask yourself the following questions:
Is my child’s safety seat properly installed in my vehicle?
Is the safety seat I am using the right seat for my child?
Is my child securely seated in his/her safety seat?
Is my child ready for a booster seat?
Is my child ready to safely travel in a vehicle without a booster seat?
Can my child be placed in the forward facing position before he/she is two years old?

If you are unsure, please consider coming to one of our Child Passenger Safety Inspection Stations.

Be sure to contact our CPS Technicians in the event of inclement weather.
Our team of Certified CPS Technicians will provide parents and caregivers with a one-on-one tutorial demonstration including the proper installation and instructional use of your specific child safety seat(s).
Visiting an inspection station can also ensure you are keeping up with the latest car seat guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the NHTSA.
Our Child Passenger Safety Technicians are members of the National Safe Kids Coalition – Senior Checker Status and have attended several events sponsored by the Manchester and Toms River Police Departments, as well as, the Ridgeway and Silverton Firehouses. In addition to conducting inspections, our Child Passenger Safety Technicians have participated in several safety events.
