Public Information Center Scheduled for June 26
Focus on Possible Improvements to Interchange 83
TOMS RIVER – The public will have an opportunity to give input and comment on possible improvements for Interchange 83 on the Garden State Parkway during a Public Information Center scheduled for June 26.
The Public Information Center is scheduled to run from 4 to 7 p.m., and will be held in Room 119 of the Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Ave., here. A brief presentation on the project will be made at 5:30 p.m.
The forum is being hosted by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration.
"We want to give the public the opportunity to give input and comment on what improvements can be made to Interchange 83," said Ocean County Freeholder John P. Kelly, Director of Law and Public Safety. "The goal of the meeting is to inform local residents, officials, businesses and the general public of the Local Concept Development Study."
The study explores the best course of action for adding an exit ramp from the Garden State Parkway southbound at Interchange 83 in Toms River.
The meeting will also inform the public of the problems within the project area, as well as soliciting public input and comments regarding the purpose and needs of the project. The public is invited to comment and attend the public information center at any time. County and staff support will be available to answer questions.
Written comments will also be accepted through July 25.
