Ocean County Press Release
TOMS RIVER – The Public is invited to join Ocean County officials, Toms River school children and assorted elves at the annual lighting of the county's Christmas tree on Wednesday, December 6th at 4:45 p.m.

The ceremony, at the Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Avenue, here, will include a performance of holiday classics by the Silver Bay Elementary School Chorus under the direction of Stephanie Higham.

The 41-foot high Colorado Spruce at the corner of Hooper Avenue and Washington Street will be adorned with more than 2,000 energy saving LED lights, courtesy of the Ocean County Department of Buildings and Grounds.

Hot and cold apple cider and cookies baked by culinary students from the Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools will be served in the Administration Building lobby following the tree lighting.

"I invite everyone to come join us as we kickoff off the holiday season," said Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari. "The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders wishes everyone a happy, safe and peaceful Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa."

The tree lighting will be held rain or shine.
