Ocean County Paint Management Program
Full, partially full and empty paint cans can be dropped off at Ocean County's Northern and Southern Recycling Centers.
Some municipal recycling centers accept paint cans as well.
The Paint Management Program flyer
(PDF format) lists the hours and locations for this program.
Residents can bring up to 20 paint cans per day to these sites for proper disposal. This program is for latex, oil based and boat paints only. Stains, Varnishes, polyurethanes or wood preservatives will
not
be accepted.
The program is open to homeowners, not businesses such as paint contractors.
However, paint contractors and commercial businesses can bring their empty metal paint cans to the County’s Recycling Centers Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If contractors and commercial businesses have paint waste, they must contract with an approved vendor.
