Fluorescent Light Bulb Recycling Program
Ocean County operates a Fluorescent Light Bulb Recycling Program at the Northern and Southern Recycling Centers. This program accepts 4-foot, 6-foot and 8-foot fluorescent lamps as well as U-shaped, circular and compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs).
Broken fluorescent lamps are not accepted. Click Here to view the Environmental Protection Agency's guidelines for proper and safe steps to take in order to cleanup and dispose of broken fluorescent bulbs.
Residents may drop off a maximum of five bulbs or lamps per day at the County's Recycling Centers during operating hours. Operating hours for the Northern and Southern Recycling Centers are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
There is no cost to the resident for this service.
The drop off at the county's Recycling Centers is for RESIDENTS ONLY. Fluorescent fixtures are also accepted during the county's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program.
