Seaside Recycling - July 2011

Seaside Heights teams up with Coca-Cola to add new recycling containers on the boardwalk. The containers, which were donated to the Borough by Coca-Cola, will help increase recycling awareness and reduce material that enters the landfill.

Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari commended Coca Cola for their "Give It Back" program which added 50 recycling bins, shown in the foreground, to the 120 trash bins they contributed to Seaside Heights two years ago that now dot the beaches and the boardwalk in convenient locations. Vicari said the program dovetailed nicely with the Ocean County theme of encouraging summer visitors to remember that recycling doesn't take a vacation. He also pointed out that what is recycled has the added benefit of not becoming litter to wash down storm drains into the local swimming waters.
