2011 Recycling Revenue - August 2011

Ocean County municipalities will share over $917,000 in recycling revenues to be distributed by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the first half of 2011. Towns will be receiving revenue checks ranging from $969 to $184,000 for their recycling efforts. This is the largest payout since the recycling revenue sharing program began in 1995, and to date over $12 million has been distributed to municipalities. Revenue checks may be used to fund improvements to existing recycling programs and will go towards the purchase of roll-off containers, projects at recycling drop-off centers, and/or any other projects deemed appropriate by the town.
