2011 Recycling Revenue

Ocean County municipalities will share in over $917,000 of recycling revenues to be distributed by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the first half of 2011. Towns will be receiving checks that total anywhere from $969 to $184,000 for their recycling efforts. This is the largest payout since the recycling revenue sharing program began in 1995. To date over $12 million has been distributed to municipalities. The money can be used to fund existing recycling programs such as improvements to existing recycling drop-off centers, purchase roll off containers or other projects deemed appropriate by the town.

Freeholder James F. Lacey and Freeholder Director Joseph H. Vicari present a check to Mike Reina, Mayor of Jackson Township and Fred Rasiewicz, Superintendent of Public Works
