Battery Recycling
Beginning January 1, 2010, the US DOT has placed new regulations on the transportation of used dry-cell batteries throughout the United States. This coupled with a reduction in the concentration of toxic constituents in the most common dry-cell batteries, warrants a change in the procedures for disposing these materials. Rechargeable and button batteries will be recycled, while all other non rechargeable batteries, such as alkaline, can be disposed of as normal household trash.
