The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders appointed Mr. Harold Morris the Director of the Ocean County Training Center in Ocean Township (Waretown) in November 2007. Stephen J. Brennan has held the position of Ocean County EMS Coordinator since 1988. Raymond L. Van Marter, Ocean County's Deputy Fire Marshal for Training, is a 26 year veteran of the New Jersey Fire Service. Prior to his current employment status with the Fire Marshal's office, he had served as Supervisor of Inspections. He began his career in 1978 as a Explorer with Toms River Fire Company # 1. Van Marter joined Toms River Fire Company # 2 in 1982 as a volunteer firefighter and is a life member of that department. He was later employed as a Fire Suppression Specialist for the United States Veterans Administration and then as a Firefighter / Driver for Jackson Township Fire District # 3.
