New Jersey Department of CorrectionsThe Ocean County Jail has regularly earned a ‘Certificate of Compliance’ from the New Jersey Department of Corrections in recognition of attaining full compliance with the requirements of the Manual of Standards for New Jersey Adult County Correctional Facilities.
National Commission of Correctional HealthcareThe Ocean County Jail also achieved reaccreditation of the Medical Unit by the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare in 2004.
American Jail Association - Certified Jail ManagersThe Jail Manager Certification Commission (JMCC) and the American Jail Association (AJA) promote the concept of voluntary certification for all jail managers. Certification is one part of a process called credentialing. It focuses specifically on the individual and is an indication of current competency in a specialized field. Jail Managers who become Certified Jail Managers (CJM) will be distinguished as individuals who have reached one of the highest levels of achievement in their field. New Jersey Human Resource Development Institute - Certified Public ManagersThe Certified Public Manager Program is part of a national effort to develop effective management skills through training and education of supervisors and managers in State and local government, including those in the law and public safety community. In New Jersey, the CPM Program is administered by the New Jersey Department of Personnel's Human Resource Development Institute. The mission of the program is to empower participants to become more effective, efficient and ethical organizational managers. The following members of the Ocean County Department of Corrections have earned the nationally recognized Certified Public Manager certification:
New Jersey Human Resource Development Institute - Certificate in Supervisory ManagementThe CPM program is divided into six levels. The first three levels focus on the critical techniques of team management with an emphasis upon practical applications. Successful completion of the first three levels leads to a Certificate in Supervisory Management (CSM). Public Agency Training Council - Certified Hostage NegotiatorsThe following members of the Ocean County Department of Corrections have completed an intensive three-phase program in Hostage Negotiation and have received certifications from the Public Agency Training Council:
