Inmate healthcare is provided through a contract with Correctional Health Services, LLC.

At the Ocean County Department of Corrections, the Medical Unit is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN).

The Medical Unit also has licensed physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists and dentists on staff.

The Medical Unit is directed by Mrs. Maria Alicea, Health Services Administrator, who ensures compliance with New Jersey Administrative Code, state and local medical and health regulations and the standards established by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
