 Mission Statement

The Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission was established by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders on January 9, 1969. By encouraging creative and cultural expressions through inclusiveness and education, the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission promotes public interest in the arts and the preservation of culture and heritage.


 Vision Statement

The Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission will be the primary leader and catalyst in promoting the arts and cultural heritage in Ocean County.


 Profile

The Commission of nine members and two alternates and its staff constitutes the central county agency charged with advocating for the arts and humanities in Ocean County. It develops, fosters, and evaluates programs and services in the arts and history which further the growth and knowledge of the County's cultural and heritage resources. The staff works directly with individuals, organizations, and community groups, as well as municipal, state, regional, and federal agencies to enhance and advance local arts and history activities.

Two Shows: l0:00AM & 12:00 Noon The Arts & Community Center of Ocean County College Funded in Part by the IJ State Council on the Arts, a partner of the National Endowment for the Arts. Join Five Talented performers as they demonstrate there's more to Mexico than mariachis and sombreros. With colorful, costumes, authentic instruments , and lively music and dance, the performers explore the richly textured culture that has evolved over five hundred years of native life and foreign influence. An exuberant feast for the senses-it's like being at an outdoor Mexican market! Primary artists are AIda Reuter & Peter Bogdanos. Limited funds for school bus transportation. Every organization receiving grant funds is expected to encourage and develop the participation of a broad cross section of citizens, including, but not limited to, diverse ethnic populations, individuals with disabilities, older adults, and women.
