Ocean County: Four Centuries in the Making
This is a comprehensive one-volume, 1000-page history of Ocean County from
pre-colonial times to the present. Parts I and II, the county’s history up to
1950, were written by the county historian, Pauline S. Miller. Each chapter in
Part III, was written by one of eight contributing authors. It also contains
more than 600 illustrations, photos, and maps, detailed endnotes, appendices of
supplementary and demographic material, an extensive bibliography, and an
