Custody staff must be selected from the current Civil Service List.

Inclusion on this list is accomplished by taking the Juvenile Detention Officer examination that is periodically given by the New Jersey Department of Personnel.

The dates for the test can be obtained by accessing the  State of New Jersey Department of Personnel web site.

Non-custody staff employment is also under Civil Service regulations.
