The 2010 census information shows Ocean County's 60+ population at 27.2% of the
total with 157,064 individuals. The 65+ cohort accounts for 21% of the total
with 121,104. One of the fastest growing segments of the sixty plus population
in Ocean County is the eighty-five and over cohort. This group which numbered
8,697 in 1990, increased to 14,914 in 2000 and 19,610 in 2010.
The Office of Senior Services is the focal point
that older adults and their families can turn to for information regarding
services and programs.
