The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the Police Academy located in the Ocean County Park in Lakewood. The Academy is "Police Training Commission" certified. In addition to providing the Basic Police Officer Training Class, and the Special Police Class I & II Classes, it provides a variety of specialized courses to meet the changing needs of Ocean County's Law Enforcement Community. In addition to the many Sheriff's Officers that instruct at the academy instructors are pulled from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to provide the best possible learning experience.
