Ocean County is excited to announce a recycling partnership with Better World Books.
Residents may now bring paperback and hardcover books to the Better World Books drop boxes located at the County’s Northern and Southern Recycling Centers.
Drop boxes are located near Building 68 at the Northern Recycling Center and Building 105 at the Southern Recycling Center, and can be accessed during normal operating hours (Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.).
These drop boxes will help keep books out of the County’s Materials Processing Center, where hardcover books can damage equipment or otherwise interfere with normal sorting procedures.
Better World Books repackages books received from the drop boxes for online sale, with a portion of proceeds directly funding literacy programs, schools and libraries worldwide. Any books that can't be sold are donated or properly recycled.
