Our Mission

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office is committed to protecting life and property. We are dedicated to affording all citizens with law enforcement excellence and shall perform our duties in a proficient and effective manner. While performing the customary services of the Sheriff, we remain ready to strengthen and enhance all other law enforcement organizations. We acknowledge that the aptitude needed to effectively complete our mission is based on collective joint deference and dependability shared between the Sheriff's Office, federal, state, county and municipal agencies, and the citizens we serve. As professionals, we are obligated to enforce the laws in a just and unbiased approach, while realizing the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority. In accomplishing our goal of law enforcement excellence, we will steadfastly protect the constitutional rights of every person.

Basic Telecommunicator and EMD Course

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office will be hosting training classes in Public Safety Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch in January 2017. The details and application can be found under the  Communications Division / 911 Dispatch Webpage

TOY DRIVE 2016

This holiday season the Ocean County Sheriff's Office will be conducting its annual Toy Drive in conjunction with the Ocean County Chiefs of Police Association. If you wish to donate a new unwrapped toy please call (732) 929-2161.
To be put on the list to receive toys fill out the Toy Drive Form located under "Links" and follow the directions on how to submit.

Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy

Michael G. Mastronardy brings 40 years of law enforcement experience to the Sheriff's Office. Having worked his way up the ranks of the Toms River Police Department, Mastronardy was named Chief of the Department in November 1992. He served as Chief for 22 years until his retirement December 31, 2013.

Sheriff Mastronardy is the Chief Executive Officer of his agency which includes multiple divisions and units in which he is responsible for staffing with highly-trained professional personnel. Navigation Icon More...
