While performing the customary services of the Sheriff, we remain ready to strengthen and enhance all other law enforcement organizations. As professionals, we are obligated to enforce the laws in a just and unbiased approach, while realizing the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority. The OCSO is hiring Public Safety Telecommunicators!

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for the position of Public Safety Telecommunicator. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday 08:30 – 15:00 at the Communications Building, which is located at 138 Chestnut Street in Toms River, NJ. The deadline to return applications is December 15, 2017 at 15:00. You are required to be a county resident and possess the following certifications to apply: Basic Telecommunicator, CPR, and Emergency Medical Dispatch. Please direct all applications to Sergeant Peter Glass. The application and waiver are attached below.

2017 Annual Toy Drive

This holiday season the Ocean County Sheriff's Office will be conducting its annual Toy Drive in conjunction with the Ocean County Chiefs of Police Association.

Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy

Michael G. Mastronardy brings 40 years of law enforcement experience to the Sheriff's Office. Having worked his way up the ranks of the Toms River Police Department, Mastronardy was named Chief of the Department in November 1992. He served as Chief for 22 years until his retirement December 31, 2013.
