Info Founded in 1908 and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Georgian Court University is a comprehensive, coeducational university with a strong liberal arts core and an historic, special concern for women. The 156-acre campus in Lakewood, N.J., sits on the picturesque former George Jay Gould estate, which is a National Historic Landmark and an arboretum. Georgian Court serves more than 2,200 women and men of all faiths and backgrounds in undergraduate and graduate programs, and promotes excellence through scholarship, diversity and service. GCU delivers to the world engaged students and alumni who have integrity, intellectual surety, and share a powerful sense of purpose. The university also is home to the McAuley Institute for Lifelong Learning (MILL), for adults ages 50 and above, who have a passion for learning and want to foster successful aging and transition to retirement through continued education and socialization. MILL offers a variety of courses, taught by experienced instructors, in a friendly and supportive environment. In addition, GCU engages the general public through its community education and special events programs, including lectures, concerts, theatrical performances, tours, exhibits, day trips, and more.
