9/28/2026 - Ocean County Provides Update Regarding Nor’easter Impact

OCEAN COUNTY – As Ocean County continues to experience the effects of the Nor'easter, the Ocean County Board of Commissioners encourages residents to stay weather aware and be mindful of travel while in the State of Emergency.

While the tides have rescinded, there will be another high tide later this evening that could continue to cause damage and be dangerous.

The Ocean County Board of Commissioners also reminds residents to remember these tips from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Management while they continue to monitor weather conditions:
• Be sure to secure potentially wind-borne objects.
• Avoid driving through flooded areas. In addition, residents should move vehicles to higher ground if they live in low laying area.
• Bring pets indoors.
• Check your car battery.
• Place generators 20 feet from doors or windows.

During this weekend's storm, please be cautious and follow the instructions of first responders. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1.

In the event of power outages, Jersey Central Power and Light Company customers should call 1-888-544-4877, texting "OUT" to 544487, or visiting JCP&L's website and Atlantic City Electric Customers should call 1-800-833-7476 or Text "OUT" to 20661.
