Professional Visitation

The Ocean County Department of Corrections offers three types of Professional Visitation: Professional Contact Visits, At Home Professional Video Visitation, Video Visitation in our Lobby

Professional Contact Visits

Attorneys may visit their clients with no restrictions placed on the number of visits.
Visits will occur Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There will be no contact visitation between noon and 1p.m. nor 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Attorneys may visit their clients other than at prescribed times under special approval for emergencies by the Warden or his designee.

Requests for attorney and professional contact visits must be submitted in writing to the Office of the Warden for approval prior and scheduling.
The OIC may use his discretion to schedule a contact visitation.

Once you have registered on the application you will NOT be able to schedule professional visits until the facility approves you as a professional visitor.

Once you have registered, you must email cketelaar@co.ocean.nj.us and attach a copy of your photo ID as well as professional ID.

You will also be required to accept the “Terms of Use” Policy on the application prior to scheduling visits.

You understand privileges can be revoked at any time due to a violation of the facility rules and procedures.

You will be contacted when your account is approved for professional visiting. Please allow 24 to 48 busniess hours for approval.

When you are approved to schedule professional visits, schedule visits at least one day in advance, but not more than 7 days in advance.

Professional Visit Times Monday-Friday: 8 AM- 5 PM. Scheduling availability are shown during the scheduling process.
Times and availability are subject to change.
Visits times are varied and subject to availability.

Private investigator visits

Private Investigators may visit the inmates in relation to an investigation after submitting to the Warden or his designee a letter of introduction from the Attorney of Record employing or retaining the investigator, or a copy of the court's journal entry assigning the investigator to the inmate's case.
In matters not relative to the investigatory issues centered around the inmate's case (relevant to the inmate's incarceration), the investigator is entitled to contact with the inmate he wishes to see via regular inmate video visitation procedures.
P.I. visits may be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Video Visitation in our Lobby

Video Visitation is available in our lobby via a visitation kiosk.
Video visitation is allowed during professional visiting hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Clergy visits

All such visits are coordinated by the Program Services Unit
Video visitation with approved clergy will be scheduled during professional visiting hours
Clergy visits may be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.There will be no contact visitation between noon and 1p.m. nor 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Other professional visits

Other professional visitors include social service agencies, probation, parole, mental health, educational, and treatment agencies.
Professional visitors shall present valid ID and credentials in the visiting lobby.
Visits may be scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
