Applicants for a postion with Ocean Ride (Ocean County Department of Transportation Services) must meet the minimum qualifications and requirements as stated in the Job Posting issued by the NJ Department of Personnel.

Minimum requirements include education and experience, as well as knowledge, skill and ability to perform the job functions.

Employment applications are also available at the County Connection located in the Ocean County Mall (near JC Penney’s) in Toms River.

It is a requirement that the applicant must possess a favorable driving record for Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class B with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements. Federal law requires Commercial Drivers to carry a medical examiner's fitness statement at all times and renew it every two years.

Reasonable Modification Policy

The Ocean County Department of Transportation Services (Ocean Ride) will make a reasonable attempt to provide additional assistance requested by any passengers with disabilities so as long as the request does not present a direct threat of safety to the passenger(s) and/or the county employee and/or the request does not alter the fundamental transportation services provided by the County of Ocean.

To make a “Reasonable Modification” request, you must call a day in advance of travel and contact Ocean Ride at (732) 736-8989, Ext. 4.
