[11/04/21] Plastic Straw Ban Takes Effect TODAY

Click HERE to view the NJDEP press release.

Beginning on November 4th, all food-service businesses in NJ will be required to provide plastic straws upon request only as part of a broader NJ initiative aimed at reducing single-use plastics throughout the state.

By limiting the use of plastic straws, which are not recyclable in our program, we can protect Ocean County's beautiful marine environments and help to reduce NJ's reliance on fossil fuels.

Those that require a plastic straw will still be able to obtain one upon request, but if you can do without we encourage you to do so. It may seem like a small step but it's a small step towards greater sustainability, locally and statewide. Bravo New Jersey!
